Johns Hopkins International (“JHI”)
For over a century, Johns Hopkins has been recognized as a leader in patient care, medical research and teaching. For the past 17 years, the Johns Hopkins Hospital was ranked at the top in the Honor Roll of the U.S. News & World Report. It has demonstrated strong breadth of excellence in the fields such as obstetrics and gynecology, ophthalmology, urology, otolaryngology and geriatrics. Johns Hopkins Medicine has established Johns Hopkins International (JHI), so that the preeminence of the Johns Hopkins reputation in clinical care, education and medical research may be enhanced in the international arena.
Working with health organizations, professionals, corporations, investors and governments around the world, JHI implements innovative and developmental projects around the world. JHI has been involved in several international programs from the creation of a clinical service facility in Singapore, to the implementation of telemedicine programs in Argentina, Italy and Turkey.
UPMG and JHI have signed an agreement that JHI will provide UPMG with premium education and consultation services for the Group’s healthcare business.

Shanghai: International Peace Maternity & Child Health Hospital of the China Welfare Institute (IPMCHH)
Founded in 1952 by the late Honorary Chairman of the PRC, Mme. Soong Ching Ling, the International Peace Maternity and Child Health Hospital (IPMCHH) aims to enhance the health of women and children by focusing on their welfare.
Located in Xu Jiahui, a bustling hub of commerce in Shanghai, the hospital offers unsurpassed maternity and child health care services to its patients. The hospital was one of the first groups of hospitals to be named as a national “Baby Friendly Hospital” by the Chinese Ministry of Public Health, WHO and UNICEF. With its high medical quality and fine service, the hospital won the approval of the denomination of “Three Class-A Hospital” and “National Advanced Collective of Department of Health” by the Ministry of Health. It was also awarded the title of “Model of Civilized Unit” by the government of Shanghai in 2000.
The three-storey VIP Birthing Center in IPMCHH is now located on the 13th, 14th and 15th floors of the main building, providing a spacious and homely environment for mothers and their families.
Guangzhou : The Second Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical College (SAHGM)
The Second Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical College was founded in 1982. The SAHGM has been unceasingly developing up-to-date medical technologies whereby quickly stood out among hospitals in the country. It has become a new multi-functional hospital with novel facilities for medical service, teaching, scientific research and health care.
Situated in the city centre of Haizhu region in Guangzhou, the hospital covers an area of nearly 40,000 square meters. The hospital is well-equipped with facilities including a spacious outpatient hall, a hotel-like emergency unit, in-patient rooms, internationally-accredited operating rooms, intensive care unit and health consultation centre. It provides patients with a comfortable environment and advanced medical facilities.
The hospital’s full range of specialties is manned with abundant technical personnel. There are 883 beds and 1,263 medical professionals in the hospital. Among them, 148 have high-ranking professional titles. The SAHGM has always attached importance to the cultivation of a proficient professional staff. Wuxi : The Wuxi Maternity and Child Health Hospital (WMCHH)
Established in 1950, the Wuxi Maternity and Child Health Hospital(WMCHH) is the only specialized hospital providing obstetrics and gynecology treatment, healthcare, science research, education, professional training and family plan guidance in the region. In 1994, the Hospital was named as a national “Baby Friendly Hospital” by the China’s Ministry of Health. WMCHH has been awarded many times by national, provincial and municipal healthy departments for its excellent performance.
The Hospital covers an area of nearly 160,000 square meters in size with more than 400,000 square meters of building. WMCHH has three major clinical departments and one center: Department of Gynecology, Department of Obstetrics, Department of Infants, and Technology Guiding Center for Family Plan. It opens two additional diagnostic centers for complicated obstetric and gynecological diseases. The hospital has made significant achievements to lowering mortality rate of pregnant and puerperal women and newborn babies. It also makes contribution to the substantial decrease of birth defects in Wuxi region.
The Hospital is devoted to providing premier clinical services and developing up-to-date medical technologies. In 2000, a modern Baby Friendly Building with advanced equipment and facilities was put into service. All obstetrics wards are installed with world-class fetus supervising systems, creating a cozy environment for patients’ treatment and recovery.
Changsha : The Changsha Maternity and Child Health Hospital
Established in 1962, the Changsha Maternity and Child Health Hospital is a specialized hospital providing obstetrics and gynecology treatment, healthcare, science research, education, rehabilitation and family plan guidance in the region. The Hospital was named as a national “Baby Friendly Hospital” by the China’s Ministry of Health. It has been awarded many times by national and provincial healthy departments for its excellent performance. The Hospital covers an area of 14757 square meters in size with more than 27685 square meters of building. The Hospital is staffed with 211 employees and configured with 100 beds.
The major clinical departments of the Hospital include the Department of Gynecology, Department of Obstetrics, Department of Infants, Department of Women’s Health Care and the Department of Children Health Care. The hospital has made significant achievements to lowering mortality rate of pregnant and puerperal women and newborn babies. It also makes contribution to the substantial decrease of birth defects in Changsha region.
By the collaboration between China and the United States, the Hospital establishes a VIP Maternity and GYN Center that provides premiere medical services to the target customers in the Changsha region.
Foshan: Foshan Maternal and Children's Hospital
Foshan Maternal and Children's Hospital founded in 1951 is the city's main women & children specialist hospital. It is a referral center for the surrounding hospitals in the District. The hospital has received numerous awards including designation as a “Baby Friendly Hospital” by the Chinese Ministry of Public Health. It has also been repeatedly named as the “Socialist Ideological and Civilized Unit” for their ethical business practices.
In May 2005, a new hospital was opened with 18,800 square meters of land and a total of 50,000 square meters floor space. It has over 400 employees including around 360 medical professionals. The hospital has different centers to cater different medical needs, including Foshan Assisted Reproductive Center, Foshan Uterus Disease Prevention and Treatment Center, Diagnostic and Surgical Hysteroscope Center, Foshan Neonatal Disease Screening Center, Foshan Premarital Check-up Center, Foshan Population Control and Adolescence Sex Education Center for School Children, etc.
The hospital has also put considerable emphasis on researches. More than 70 research awards have been received, e.g. research in chromosomal abnormality, development and application of hemostatic forceps in hysterotomy and first in vitro fertilization. Their Centers of Excellence include assisted reproduction technique, neonatology, minimally invasive surgery, premarital check-up, cervical cancer screening, and sex education.
Xiamen:Xiamen Maternity and Child Health Care Hospital-Lin Qiao Zhi Women's and Children's Hospital
Xiamen Maternity and Child Health Care Hospital / Lin Qiao Zhi Women's and Children's Hospital is a maternal and child healthcare and medical consultation center in Xiamen. It is the only maternal and child specialist clinic in Xiamen which provides healthcare, disease prevention, medication, scientific research, family planning and sexual and reproductive health service in one unit. The hospital has received the award of “level three maternal and child healthcare hospital”, and is responsible for the healthcare and medication of the 2/3 woman and child population in Xiamen. The hospital puts considerable emphasis on introducing talented professionals. There are more than 403 staff, 52 senior level staff, and 68 intermediate level medical and technical staff under the management hierarchy. The hospital has 15,489 square meters floor space, 250 beds, and 5 operation theaters which fulfilled international hygiene standard. The nutrition laboratory in the hospital plays a leading role in China, and is the only nutrition laboratory in Xiaman which provides nutrition consultation service to the pregnant women and children.
